Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province held an activity Participant for Literary Protection: Revitalization of Oral Literature of Sempuri and Betore in Paser Regency. It was the series of Literary Protection activities as the main tasks of Agency for Language Development and Cultivation that implemented by Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province (a.k.a. the Language Office). According to Presidential Decree number 57 of 2014 on the Development, Cultivation, and Protection for Language and Literature, the Language Office works to conserve it in Paser Regency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Held on 4 July 2022 at the hall of SMP 2 Tanah Grogot, the activity ran well. It attended Head of Department of Education and Culture of Paser Regency M. Yunus Syam and Head of the Language Office Halimi Hadibrata, M.Pd., as well as junior high school students as the participants. In addition, several figures and stakeholders of oral traditions in Paser Regency are involved. Those traditional leaders participation as an evidence of government and community concern. The Head of Department of Education and Culture of Paser Regency, in his remarks, appreciated the Language Office initiation to protect the oral traditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
M. Yunus Syam said the most effective way to protect regional literature through education. It is in line with the nomenclature development, adding the division of local content curriculum, at Department of Education and Culture of Paser Regency. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The activity of Participant for Literary Protection started on March 2022. Collaborated with Department of Education and Culture of Paser Regency, the Language Office discussed on teachers or trainers of oral traditions in Paser Regency selection. Thus, training of the oral tradition of sempuri and betore is undertook. It is addressed for junior high school students and drilled by two trainers, namely Aji Jamil Lempesu and Ibu Binru. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The upcoming activity is showing on stage the students training results. The thirteen students are trained. Six students performed sempuri. <\/em>They narrated own compositions stories about human nature and animal stories. Besides, seven participants performed betore<\/em>.
