Samarinda, 20 October 2022 \u2014 On Tuesday, 18 October 2022, Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province held Indonesian Language Counselling for Social Media Creators in East Kalimantan as the series of 2022 Language and Literature Month commemorations. Social media creators of government agencies attended the event. In addition, members of the Indonesian Cyber \u200b\u200band Social Media Association (AMSINDO) of East Kalimantan participated in the counselling. The event started at 9 pm, rescheduled from 8 pm because most of the participants were trapped by the flood that hit several roads in Samarinda City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The speaker, Ali Kusno, conveyed several benefits of using social media. Social media could improve the reputation of the institution and explore public aspirations for government agencies. Also, social media reached the audience widely. Therefore, understanding how to manage social media in information dissemination and how to communicate across cultures was necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the discussion session, the Chairman of AMSINDO Kaltim, M. Dio Mahendra, warmly welcomed the event. He stated this training was important to improve writing skills so that they could present the news by using appropriate and correct Indonesian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis activity is quite good and the material presented is easy to accept. My hope is that after this we have a better understanding of how to use appropriate and correct Indonesian in news writing,\u201d he stated. Dio hoped that this activity could be sustainable.
