Very few young people are willing to study and master local literature.

Putak hamlet is inhabited by the majority of the Dayak Tunjung tribe. The threat to the existence of the Tunjung language also occurred in this hamlet. Tunjung language is rarely used in everyday conversation. Older generations, who still speak their mother tongue, do not have the awareness to pass on their mother tongue mastery to the younger generations. They prefer to the practical way by using Indonesian as a means of daily communication language. They were not only embedded the awareness in re-raising the Tunjung language, but also they were trained in literary creation skills using their mother tongue as the media. They, who initially did not know the existence of local literature at all, became excited to learn on techniques of local literary creation.

On that occasion, the local literature that was trained is Rijoq. Rijoq is a type of speech literature that thrives in the Tunjung community. Rijoq is in the form of a pantun with its own uniqueness. This pantun requires specific skills to create and convey it. Rijoq, in its development, is usually conveyed by singing.

The uniqueness of the Rijoq is on its three rows phrase. The first row is sampiran. The second row and the third row are the contents of pantun. The rhyme sound in the first word (sometimes in the second word) of the first row becomes a rhyme of sampiran for the end of the second row of phrase.

The rhyme sound in the last word of the first row becomes the rhyme of sampiran for the end of the third row of phrase.

Noq baloq dilapm lebak
Itih akui ewah berijoq
Eteq gerup dusun Putak

The youths of Putak Hamlet, who had felt unfamiliar to the literature previously, were hobbling in trying to learn Rijoq.
