As a part of the Merdeka Belajar Program Episode 17, it aimed to preserve the regional languages, including Kenyah in East Kalimantan, to prevent their extinction caused by speakers decreases.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, it addressed monitoring and evaluating the mentors&#8217; and teachers&#8217; efforts when revitalizing the Kenyah language at Muara Ancalong. Besides, to know the students\u2019 readiness to participate in FTBI provincial level in November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The monitoring occurred at SMP Negeri 2 Muara Ancalong when the selection of FTBI District Level was hosted.&nbsp; Head of SD Negeri 005 Muara Ancalong, SD Negeri 007 Muara Ancalong, SMP Negeri 2 Muara Ancalong, teachers, trainers, mentors, and 26 elementary and junior high school students are involved in the event. They welcomed the team that directly monitored and evaluated the implementation of the Regional Language Revitalization and invited the Team to be a jury in that FTBI Fest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The headmasters, in their remarks,&nbsp; strongly supported this regional language revitalization activity. In this FTBI Fest, some elementary school students have been selected for poetry and speech categories. In addition, junior high school students have been selected for poetry, speeches, and short story writing in Kenyah. The monitoring showed that teachers have conducted teaching and training for students and the FTBI selection has been hosted well but has not succeeded to the maximum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are obstacles that the Kenyah language is not included yet in the local content in schools and budgeting support is still limited. However, the teachers and trainers keep trying to train elementary and junior high school students to continue learning the Kenyah language via poetry, speeches, fairy tales, short stories, stand-up comedy, and so on. They are ready to participate at the FTBI provincial level.
