The symbol and proponent for local languages are availability, both spoken and written, of the stories in local languages. Some regions in Indonesia still have a good tradition of stories writing in local languages, such as East Java, Central Java, Bali, etc. Unfortunately, the tradition of stories writing in local languages in East Kalimantan and North Kalimantan Province does not exist. In consequence, Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province has an interest to emerge the stories writing tradition in local language of those provinces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As an effort, Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province undertook Tracking Story Manuscripts in Local Languages in Kutai Kartanegara Regency. On 23&#8211;24 March 2022, KKLP Penerjemahan or Translation Team of Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province visited several litterateurs, artists, and writers in Tenggarong and Jembayan district to collect the story manuscripts in the local Kutai language. It is expected that these documentation of stories can be fully used for local language conservation. By this activity, Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province encourages the informants to deeply explore, develop, and improve the stories writing tradition into the local Kutai language in East Kalimantan Province.
