Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province held a Primary Teacher Training activity on 19–22 July 2022 at the Grand Sadurengas Hotel, Tanah Grogot. It was attended by 100 participants from the Paser language practicioners, teachers, headmasters, and supervisors.
Paser Regency Education and Culture Agency Acting Secretary Agus Wintoro, S.Pd., M.Pd., Culture Division Head Surpiani, S.E., and 100 teachers and practicioners of Paser language followed the event. It was officially opened by Assistant of Regent for Government Affairs, Law and Politic H. Amirudin Ahmad, M.A.P.
Head of Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province, Halimi Hadibrata, M.Pd., said that the Paser language implementation in the school requires local government, teachers, and practicioners support, as well as young generation participation. He hoped RBD is not only aimed to festivals, but also to stimulate and excite to speak Paser language for young generation. Thus, it will have an impact to reinforce the cultural roots, especially language.
The Primary Teachers, who came from PPU and Paser regencies, were very enthusiastic and agreed to revitalize the Paser language. They received materials on 1) Writing and Practice of Storytelling, 2) Writing and Reading of Poetry, and 3) Writing and Practice of Speech.
Finally, this training is aimed to produce a revitalization of Paser language learning model for elementary and junior high school levels. In addition, participants are expected to implement the revitalization of the Paser language immediately for elementary and junior high school students and prepare the young generation to embark the province and national level contest of Festival Tunas Ibu.
