Monitoring and Publication of Revitalization of Regional Language at Long Kali District

The Monitoring and Publication Team of Revitalization of Regional Language (furthermore stated as RBD) of the Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province attended Festival Tunas Bahasa Ibu (FTBI/Festival of Mother Language for Younger) at Pasar Selasa (Tuesday Market) Long Kali District, Paser Regency on Saturday, 10 September 2022. It was participated by elementary and junior high school students (SD/MI and SMP/MTs students). 

Monitoring aimed to monitor and publish the progress of the implementation of Paser Language revitalization and preparation for FTBI at the regency and provincial levels. It was one of an RBD implementation series in East Kalimantan Province.

The FTBI of Paser Language for SD/MI and SMP/MTs Students in Long Kali District was attended by 22 schools with a total of 63 students. In the preparation for FTBI,  151 teachers and 774 students actively participated. It selected the best 63 students to compete for the FTBI at the sub-district level. In elementary grade, students get involved in sempuri (fairy tale) and betikou (poetry) competitions. In junior high grade, students took part in pedato (speech) and betikou (poetry) competitions. The FTBI of Paser Language was officiated by Rusnawati, S.Pd.S.D. of the Department of Education and Culture of Paser Regency, and as Chairman of the Bawe Paser Association. Some guests invited to the event, such as the Head of Long Kali Subdistrict, Long Kali District Military Commander (Danramil), traditional figures of Long Kali Subdistrict, Department of  Education and Culture of Paser Regency, Member of the Paser Regional Legislative Council (DPRD), Head of Long Kali Village, teachers and students of SD/MI and SMP/MTs in Long Kali District. The judges were Abdul Majid, Rusnawati, and Abdul Karim.

Revitalization of Regional Language in Long Kali Subdistrict ran well and was full of enthusiasm. It is supported by donors, Bawe Paser Association, and the Department of Education and Culture Of Paser Regency.
