Paser, 19 December 2022 — Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province (a.k.a Language Office) was honored by receiving a Certificate of Appreciation for the implementation of Revitalization of Regional Language (RBD): Paser Language and Festival of Mother Language for Younger (FTBI) in 2022 from Regional Government of Paser Regency. The Certificates were handed over directly by dr. Fahmi Fadli the Regent of Paser to  Halimi Hadibrata, M.Pd the Head of Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province. Also, M. Yunus Syam, S.Pd., M.Sc. The Head of Paser Regency Education and Culture Agency awarded the Certificate of Appreciation to the Language Office. On the other hand, the Head of Language Office also delivered a Certificate of Appreciation to the Regent of Paser and the Head of Paser Regency Education and Culture Agency for their participation in and support for the RBD program. Those certificates were given to coincide with the event of the 2022 Melas Taon at Gentung Temiyang area, Tanah Grogot, Paser Regency.

Prior to the awarding ceremony, the Evaluation Team from Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province conducted the Revitalization of Regional Language (RBD) 2022 evaluation and initial coordination meeting for RBD 2023 at the Education and Culture Agency of Paser Regency Team was received by M. Yunus Syam the Head of Education and Culture Agency of Paser Regency and several staff. Accompanied by the Head of the Education and Culture Agency, the Evaluation Team met H. Romif Erwinadi the Assistant for Government and People’s Welfare of Paser Regency. In the meeting, the Regional Government of Paser Regency stated they were ready to support the implementation of the RBD program in 2023. Furthermore, the Head of the Language Office conveyed various points relating to the implementation of the RBD and FTBI, as well as plans for the 2023 RBD program. It also stated that Paser Regency Government should be proud of three participants from Paser Regency who won first place in the Festival of Mother’s Language for Younger at the provincial level. They will be East Kalimantan Province representatives at the national level. Those three children will be named as Ambassadors of  Paser Language in 2022 at the Paser Cultural Parade, on 22 December 2022. Further, they will be Models for Young Speakers of the Paser Language in the 2023 Revitalization of Paser Language program. (abd)
