Samarinda, 5 January 2023 — The East Kalimantan Regional Police (Polda Kaltim) led by the Head of Sub Directorate V / Cyber ​​Ditreskrimsus, AKBP Sugeng Subagyo, S.H., and team visited Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province (KBPKT) on Tuesday, 27 December 2022 as a followed up meeting on 23 December 2022 in Regional Police Office. In his remarks, the Head of KBPKT Halimi Hadibrata expressed his welcome and gratitude for the visit. “Polda visitation adds to the list of institution visits that have carried out synergy with  KBPKT,” said Halimi.

Sugeng Subagyo, in his remarks, delivered his gratitude for partnering and providing support as a linguist dealing with language evidence. Sugeng hoped that the cooperation can be continued and improved. At that opportunity, Sugeng handed over the award to Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province (esp KKLP of Cultivation and Legal-Language) for partnership and services by language experts in 2022. It was signed by the Director of Special Criminal Investigation, Indra Lutrianto Amstono, S.H., M.Sc.

Member of KKLP of Cultivation and Legal-Language Ali Kusno conveyed the evaluation and efforts to continue the cooperation. Ali Kusno said the  KKLP in 2021 provided language expert services for 22 cases and in 2022 for 15 cases.

“So far, we have provided services to the Polda Kaltim, Polresta Balikpapan, and Polres Berau. Our expectation Polda be able to convey our services to others.  In addition, we will also prepare a team to anticipate the possibility of case increase related to language evidence in the political year, 2023 and 2024,” Ali Kusno said. 

“Besides, we hope to contribute to improving the Indonesian language competence for investigators and the secretariat staff of Polda Kaltim. Later on, we hope this cooperation embodied a memorandum of understanding between the parties,” He added.

“I will communicate regarding the services of this office on language experts to my staff here. For training and cooperation signing, we will coordinate with the relevant departments,” Sugeng responded.

Finally, Halimi emphasized that partnership and service are a form of the Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province commitment to being a dignified and useful institution. (ak)
