Muara Ancalong, 7 February 2023 — Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province team from 6 to 8 February 2023 visited Gemar Baru Village, Muara Ancalong District, East Kutai Regency to coordinate the Preservation of Regional Languages with Partners program in the framework of Regional Language Revitalization (RBD) on Kenyah language. The team was welcomed by the Head of the Gemar Baru Village, Pak Donny, at his office. The meeting has attended by the principals of the State Elementary School (SDN) 05, SDN 07, SMPN, and community leaders. The Village Head and community leaders welcomed and were very pleased with the attention from Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province to efforts to preserve the Kenyah language, especially Kenyah Lepoq Jalan. Information and activity plans for Regional Language Revitalization will also be informed to the villages where inhabited by the Dayak Kenyah tribe. In addition, the Village Head will also report and coordinate with the (subdistrict head) Lurah and (district head) Camat in an effort to support the financing of RBD activities in accordance with applicable regulations. Thus, participants from this village can take part in meetings, training, the festival at the village/district level, and the festival at the provincial and national levels.
