Samarinda, 15 February 2023 — Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province received a visitation from the East Kalimantan Representative of the Association of Indonesian Social Media and Cyber ​​(AMSINDO), Wednesday, 15 February 2023. It discussed the opportunities for partnership that would be realized in 2023. The East Kalimantan Representative of the AMSINDO Team was led by Chairman M. Dio Mahendra and accompanied by his member. The Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province team consisted of M. Erwin Dharma, Ali Kusno, Pandu Pratama Putra, Abd. Rahman, Nur Bety as well as M. Abby, Tiffanisia Ping, and Sonya Soraya as representatives of Language Ambassadors.

“I say thank you to the AMSINDO team for attending. Nowadays, we all realize that social media is very massive. Social media is needed by government agencies including our Office for the publication of media to the public. Efforts to disseminate and publish some programs and activities to the public will be able to run well, with the role of social media, such as AMSINDO. Language Ambassador activities that target the younger generation will run optimally and effectively using social media. We hope this partnership, that since 2022, can be improved,” stated Erwin Dharma in his remarks.

M. Dio Mahendra, Chairman of AMSINDO, explained, “ASMINDO as a forum has been established since January 2022. Social media, currently,  has an important and big role in society besides print media and online media (online). We, in East Kalimantan,  have approximately 40 members. We have partnered with several government agencies to support them in disseminating programs and activities. We are ready to synergize and work together with Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province.”

Ali Kusno expressed there were several partnerships that, hopefully, can be implemented, such as the publication of Language Ambassador Selection, language coaching for AMSINDO members, provision of language and literature content which is uploaded by AMSINDO members, as well as other collaborations. The parties could provide mutual support. Besides, Nur Bety hoped that AMSINDO can help to propagate the UKBI program for the community, especially students in East Kalimantan.

The discussions be held warmly and resulted in several agreements to follow up. In the end, Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province awarded a certificate of merit to the East Kalimantan Representative of AMSINDO for a good partnership in cultivation and legal language (KKLP) in 2022. “Thank you for the award. Hopefully, we can continue and improve the partnership,” concluded M. Dio Mahendra. (ak)
