Samarinda, 20 March 2023 — Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province on 20 March 2023 attended a hearing session (RDP) with East Kalimantan Legislative Council (DPRD) in the meeting room of Building E, 1st Floor. It discussed suggestions substance of the regional regulation draft (Ranperda) on Prioritization of the Indonesian Language and Preservation of Regional Language and Literature. Veridiana Huraq Wang, Chairman of Housing Commission III DPRD Kaltim as Chairman of the Special Housing Committee, led the RDP. Several institution representatives presented in the hearing, such as the Legal Bureau of the Regional Secretariat of East Kalimantan Province, the Education and Culture Agency of East Kalimantan Province, the Research and Development Agency (Balitbangda) of East Kalimantan Province, the Regional Office for Ministry of Law and Human Rights in East Kalimantan Province, East Kalimantan Arts Council, Mulawarman University, and literature and culture figures. During the session, members of the meeting provided input and suggestions regarding the Ranperda substance. On 21 March 2023, Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province attended a follow-up meeting to discuss some hearing results suggestions.
