Tenggarong, 26 May 2023 — The Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province held a Regional Language and Literature Competency Improvement: Training of Trainer (ToT) for the Revitalization of Kutai Malay Language. It was held on 23–26 May 2023 at the Hall of SMA Negeri 2, Tenggarong, Kutai Kartanegara. The ToT activity was attended by 86 participants, such as elementary school teachers, junior high school teachers, principals, supervisors, and Kutai Malay language activists. Participants came from Kutai Kartanegara, West Kutai, and East Kutai Regency.
The activity was officially opened by M. Agus Syarifudin, M.Pd. Pamong Budaya Ahli Muda (Junior Culture Specialist), Sub Coordinator of Local History Development and Regional Culture Preservation, Agency of Education and Culture of Kutai Kartanegara Regency. The speakers were Nor Rasyidah, M.A. (SMP Negeri 1 Sanga-Sanga), Awang M. Rifani, S.Sos., M.Si. (Agency of Education and Culture of Kutai Kartanegara Regency), Isnaini Fidhiatil Ulla, M.Pd. (SMP Negeri 10 Loa Kulu), Ismi Nor Aina (SMP Negeri 1 Tenggarong), and Akhmad Yimi Arisandi (SMP Negeri 1 Loa Kulu). The speakers delivered some materials, such as poetry, fairy tales, short story writing, speeches, Tingkilan songs, Tarsul, and solo comedy in the Kutai Malay language. In this activity, participants were also tasked with compiling teaching materials in accordance with the material presented by the speakers. (dk)
