Bontang, 27 July 2023 — Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province and the Language Ambassadors of East Kalimantan and North Kalimantan Province (Kaltim-Kaltara) collaborated to organize a Young Generation Literacy Cultivation: Abdi Bahasa event in Bontang on 25 to 27 July 2023. It took place at Library and Archives Agency of Bontang City. It presented 38 junior high school students in Bontang City. This event as part of the Kaltim and Kaltara Language Ambassador Action (Krida), namely Abdi Bahasa.
Drs. Bambang Cipto Mulyono, the Head of the Education and Culture Agnecy of Bontang City, officially opened the event. In his speech, he welcomed and hoped that the young generation in Bontang would understand more about literacy. Furthermore, he also expected that young generation in Bontang will become the next Language Ambassador of Kaltim-Kaltara.
For three days, three Language Ambassadors of Kaltim-Kaltara, namely Sonya Soraya Ghazlina, Tiffanisia Ping, and M. Nurcholis Azhari, delivered the subjects on book reviewing and dissection. Also, they introduced the participants about the borrowing and returning books process in the library. It is aimed to increase literacy for the younger generation through library activities.
