Samarinda, 3 November 2023 — Thursday, 2 November 2023, KKLP Cultivation and Legal- Language (KKLP Pembahu) of the Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province welcomed a visitation from the Sharia Faculty students of UIN Sultan Aji Muhammad Idris Samarinda. They were led by Nun Fadilah Muslimah, S.H., M.Kn. the lecturer of the Legal Contract course.
Erwin Dharma, M.Pd. Administrative Coordinator of the Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province said, “Thank you for the visitation from the 5th semester students of the Sharia Faculty, UIN Sultan Aji Muhammad Idris Samarinda. In accordance with requests, the (speaker from) Language Office will deliver material about language from the legal perspective, especially legal contracts. Please consult other (language) services at another time, such as KTI (scientific paper). This is our service to the community.”
The material presentation on the use of proper and correct Indonesian language in legal products was delivered by Ali Kusno, M.Pd. member of KKLP Pembahu. Besides, he conveyed the use of language that has legal consequences, such as insults, defamation, threats, and other hate speech.
“I hope the material I have conveyed will be a provision in the practice of drafting legal products that pay attention to the Indonesian language rules. Furthermore, students should understand the use of language, especially on social media, in order to avoid forms of hate speech that could have legal consequences. An understanding language that has legal implications is expected to be a provision in identifying and knowing what steps to take if you become a victim of hate speech,” concluded Ali Kusno. Nun Fadilah Muslimah expressed her thanks to the Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province for accepting the students’ visit from UIN Sultan Aji Muhammad Idris Samarinda. “Lectures are not limited to the lecture hall. This is an experience for students to get to know the Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province. On the other side, students are also understanding on how preparing legal products or using other languages they should pay attention to proper and correct Indonesian language rules,” she concluded.
