Sanga-Sanga, September 6, 2024 — The Monitoring Team of the Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province went to Sanga-Sanga on September 5, 2024, to monitor and evaluate the Kutai Malay revitalization activity. As a part of the Merdeka Belajar Program Episode 17 of Kemdikbud, it aimed to monitor the Kutai Malay revitalization progress carried out by teachers/mentors.
The Team monitored at SD Negeri 010 Sanga-Sanga and SMP Negeri 2 Sanga-Sanga. They are gathered at SMP Negeri 2 Sanga-Sanga. They were UPT of the Agency of Education Office of Sanga-Sanga District, the Head of SMP Negeri 2 Sanga-Sanga, the Head of SD Negeri 010 Sanga-Sanga, the mentor of SD Negeri 010 Sanga-Sanga, the mentor of SMP Negeri 2 Sanga-Sanga, teachers, trainers, and students as well as the Head of SMP Negeri 1 Sanga-Sanga, SD Negeri 009 Sanga-Sanga, and SD Negeri 013 Sanga-Sanga.
The students performed several arts Kutai Malay categories, such as poems and tingkilan, from elementary students. In addition, junior high students showed speech and tarsul.
The Team found that mentors and teachers have implemented Kutai Malay revitalization. They were excited and hoped to succeed in the Regional Language Revitalization event in the coming years. (dk)
