Nunukan, 18 August 2026 — The Regional Language Center in East Kalimantan, through its Regional Language Revitalization (RBD) Monitoring and Evaluation Team, conducted monitoring and evaluation activities for the Tidung language revitalization program in Nunukan Regency, North Kalimantan, from August 11 to 13, 2026.
This initiative is part of the Regional Language Center in East Kalimantan’s efforts to ensure the sustainability of the Regional Language Revitalization program, specifically for the Tidung language. The monitoring also aims to assess the program’s achievements, identify obstacles, and determine necessary follow-up actions for its implementation in Nunukan Regency.
During the field visit, the team visited SDN 012 Nunukan and SMP Negeri 02 Nunukan. They monitored the implementation of the Tidung RBD program within the schools and discussed the involvement of teachers and students in regional language revitalization activities, including preparations for the FTBI Festival.
Additionally, the Monitoring and Evaluation Team, led by the Chief of the Language and Literature Preservation Team, Yudianti Herawati, S.S., M.A., visited the Agency of Education and Culture of Nunukan Regency. The meeting was attended by the Acting Head of Agency of Education and Culture of Nunukan Regency, Erlina, S.T., M.A.P., along with her staff.
During the meeting, in addition to discussing the results of the Tidung language revitalization program, the team provided information and coordinated preparations for the FTBI at both the Nunukan regency and North Kalimantan provincial levels. The discussion covered the readiness for the events, participant details, competition categories, and the necessary support and coordination among stakeholders to ensure the FTBI runs smoothly.
In her remarks, Erlina expressed her appreciation and gratitude to the Regional Language Center in East Kalimantan for its support of the RBD activities. She also expressed her hope that students from Nunukan would be able to compete and excel in the upcoming FTBI.
This coordination is expected to strengthen the synergy between Regional Language Center in East Kalimantan and the Nunukan Regency Government. Ultimately, it aims to ensure the sustainability of the Regional Language Revitalization program while preparing participants for the FTBI, which serves as a forum for the appreciation and actualization of language and literary skills.
