19th November 2019 — The use of State language in education services is an important factor. The use of State language in public spaces for schools as a mirror of the language face of society. The East Kalimantan Language Office efforts to fostering and promoting the proper and right rule of State language in the public space for school continually and inviting the policy makers at school to take the responsibility out in shaping the school’s face that prioritizing the State language. For that reasons, Promotion of Language Face for School in Samarinda is conducted.
The promotion heads for providing informations on the proper and right use of Indonesian language in the public space of the secondary education institutions. Besides, it aims to prepare for assessing the use of Indonesian at schools’ public spaces.
A hundred participants comprised of headmasters of Junior High School and Islamic Junior High School, and staff of East Kalimantan Language Office were attended at the moment. In one day activity, participants listened and discussed with Secretary of the Department of Education and Culture of Samarinda, Head of the East Kalimantan Language Office, and Head of SMPN 1 Samarinda on the Best Practices in Applicating Indonesian Language at Schools, the Policy in Prioritizing State Language in Public Space, and the Best Practice as the Second Rank in National Language Face Award For School.
