Language Face Award for School in East Kalimantan and North Kalimantan Province is conducted again this year. The language face is a representative of a positive attitude in the use of Indonesian language, as a State language, in the school. The event is implemented to improve the proper language situation in public space as a part of lifelong literacy education, in accordance with the mandate of Law Number 24 of 2009 on the Flag, Language, and Symbol of the State, and the National Anthem, Presidential Decree Number 16 of 2010 on the Use of Indonesian Language, and the Circullar Letter of Minister of Education and Culture.
The Language Face Award for School could be followed by all junior high schools level in East Kalimantan and North Kalimantan Province. This year, the participants are divided into two parts to give more appreciate for many schools, such as for the state school and private school. Three winners are selected for each type of those schools.
The participants who took part in this activity are required for sending some photos of the priority objects of State language in public space at their schools. The priority objects of the State language which are sent consist of the name writing of the school, the name writing of the building, the name writing of public facilities, the name writing of the meeting room, the name writing of the products or services, the name writing of the position, the name writing of the directions or public signs, writing in the form of a banner or other informations.
The registration date of this activity was extended due to the COVID-19 Pandemic that is being faced by Indonesia. Eventually, participants’ registration date, that was only opened until April 24, 2020, was changed into June 30, 2020. The winners were announced on July 21, 2020.
The data of the winners in this activity will be sent for participating on the National Language Face Award for School 2020.
