Legal documents need to use the proper and correct of Indonesian language. As an effort to contribute in increasing Indonesian language usage to relevant institutions, the Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province has conducted an activity which is called as Data Inventory of Indonesian Language in Legal Documents. This activity represented on prioritizing the state language in accordance with the mandate of Law Number 24 of 2009 on State Flag, Language, and Symbol, as well as the National Anthem, especially related to the field of law.

Several institutions, such as the Police Department, District Court, District Attorney, Advocates and Legal Consultants Office, Notary Public, Official Certifier of Title Deeds (PPAT), Village/Local Government are involved in this data inventory activity. Some data are collected in Balikpapan City, Kutai Kartanegara Regency (Tenggarong, Muara Jawa, and Samboja), Bontang City, and East Kutai Regency.

The data will be analyzed on its language scopes. Thus, the result will be conveyed in the dissemination program. Besides, team also introduced language services to the relevant institutions. Relevant institutions welcomed enthusiastically. They wanted to get some corrections and input on their Indonesian language usage in the legal documents.
