27 September 2021 — Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province had an audience, on Monday, 27 September 2021, with Regional House of Representatives of East Kalimantan Province. The meeting discussed on the linguist role in the preparation of legal products and Regional Regulation on Language.
It took place at Meeting Room of Building E, Regional House of Representatives of East Kalimantan Province. It was attended by the Chairman of Commission IV, the Chairman of Commission I, the Chairman of Bapemperda, and staff from Regional House of Representatives of East Kalimantan Province and team of Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province. It resulted several agreements, such as 1) Regional House of Representatives will involve linguist from Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province in the process of drafting regional regulations, 2) will change drafting regional regulations standard at Regional House of Representative to involve linguists into single process package, 3) accept the proposal for drafting a Regulation on Language and put it in the 2022 legislation program, and 4) draw up an MoU draft for implementing further colaboration between Regional House of Representative of East Kalimantan Province and Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province.
In addition, this meeting is a follow-up activity of forum group discussion, which was attended by the Head of Agency for Language Development and Cultivation, on December 2020. Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province committed to oversee and implement those agreement points.
