Penajam Paser Utara, 28 November 2023 — On Tuesday, 28 November 2023, the Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province, the Agency of Language Development and Cultivation, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology signed the cooperation plan together with four institutions. It was organized during the discussion to compose the technical team for State Language prioritization at IKN. They are Mulia Balikpapan University, the Center of Language Service and Digital of Kutai Kartanegara University, the Language Centre of the State Islamic University of Sultan Aji Muhammad Idris Samarinda, and the Balikpapan Botanical Gardens.
Head of the Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province, Halimi Hadibrata, M.Pd., with represent the institutions signed the plan witnessed by the Head of the Agency of Language Development and Cultivation, Prof. Aminudin Aziz, M.A., Ph.D.
The scope of the collaboration program with three universities covered several things, such as the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka Program, the Test of Indonesian Proficiency (UKBI) program, providing human resources/experts for seminars, workshops or Focused Group Discussions (DKT), regional language preservation programs, and developing the Indonesian for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) program. With the Balikpapan Botanical Gardens, the scopes are establishing KRB as a showcase or model for prioritizing the State Language, UKBI, language training for KRB staff on official letter, public speaking, and language proficiency, etc., as well as some competitions that can be collaborated by the parties.
It is hoped that the plan will increase the partnership with the parties and the points will be immediately realized. (ak)
