Balikpapan, April 13, 2026 — The Regional Language Center in East Kalimantan, under the Agency for Language Development and Cultivation of the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, held the “Technical Guidance for BIPA Teachers Based on SKKNI: Preparation and Development of Teaching Materials” on 7–8 April 2026. Hosted at Balikpapan University, the event was attended by 15 participants representing various BIPA institutions within the coverage area of the Regional Language Center in East Kalimantan.
The activity featured keynote speakers from the Center for Language and Literature Empowerment of the Agency for Language Development and Cultivation, Ayu Dwi Nastiti, along with two experienced BIPA practitioners, Abdul Gafur and Yunita Sinaga. Key topics covered during the technical guidance included: SKKNI for BIPA Teachers; Introduction to Curriculum, Syllabus, and Fundamental Concepts of SKKNI-Based Teaching Materials; Principles of Developing BIPA Teaching Materials Based on SKKNI; Practical Exercises in Preparing and Adapting BIPA Teaching Materials; and Hands-on Development of BIPA Teaching Materials.
The two-day event commenced with an opening ceremony, followed by a presentation on language and literature policy delivered by Asep Juanda, Head of the Regional Language Center in East Kalimantan. This activity served to support BIPA institutions. Its objectives were to enhance the competence and professionalism of aspiring and practicing BIPA teachers based on SKKNI standards, improve the quality of BIPA institutions, and foster partnerships among BIPA institutions. At the conclusion of the event, participants presented drafts of teaching materials they had developed with mentorship from the speakers. (ms)
