Tenggarong, Juli 27,2026— The Regional Language Center in East Kalimantan hosted an Indonesian Language Proficiency Improvement (PKBI) program for Civil Servants in the Kutai Kartanegara Regency on Tuesday, July 21, 2026. Held at the auditorium of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 2 Kutai Kartanegara in Timbau, Tenggarong, the event drew participants from various Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPDs). The initiative aims to reinforce the use of proper and standard Indonesian in official documents and government administration.

The event was officially opened by the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Kutai Kartanegara, Dr. H. Sunggono, M.M. Welcoming the program, Sunggono expressed his appreciation for the Regional Language Center’s tangible efforts to support local civil servants. He emphasized the critical importance of adhering to linguistic rules and utilizing standardized document templates to ensure the accuracy, professionalism, and accountability of public records.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Regional Language Center in East Kalimantan, Asep Juanda, S.Ag., M.Hum., stated in his remarks that the PKBI is a tangible manifestation of the strategic partnership between his agency and the Kutai Kartanegara Regency Government to prioritize the state language. He also announced a follow-up to this collaboration: the issuance of a Decree (SK) establishing the State Language Prioritization Team in Kutai Kartanegara. This team will serve as the foundation for ongoing language supervision and development in the region.

Prior to the main training sessions, the Regional Language Center reaffirmed its commitment to expanding language and literary development by signing a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) with MAN 2 Kutai Kartanegara. This agreement marks a strategic step toward strengthening literacy and promoting the state language within educational institutions.

To ensure the program’s sustainability, the initiative extends beyond the in-person sessions. The Regional Language Center will provide two months of post-training mentorship to the participants. This mentorship aims to guarantee the practical implementation of the training outcomes within their respective agencies, while also offering a consultation platform to address any technical challenges encountered when drafting official documents.

Through the PKBI program, the establishment of the State Language Prioritization Team, and intensive mentorship, the Regional Language Center in East Kalimantan hopes to transform administrative management and official document drafting within the Kutai Kartanegara Regency Government. Ultimately, the initiative aims to make these processes more systematic and effective, reflecting a dignified commitment to upholding the state language. (nb)
