Samarinda, 30 April 2019 — Kantor Bahasa Kalimantan Timur (The East Kalimantan Language Office) embellished the Commemoration of National Education Day implemented with the East Kalimantan Education and Culture Fair 2019 in theme “Strengthening Education, Promoting Culture”.
The Fair held on 20-24 April 2019 in LPMP (Educational Quality Assurance Council) of East Kalimantan.
It was a collaboration between the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of Ministry of Education and Culture in East Kalimantan, namely LPMP, BPCB, BP Paud Dikmas, and Kantor Bahasa. Furthermore, the activity was also supported by the Provincial Education and Culture Office of East Kalimantan and Regional Education and Culture Office of Samarinda.
The East Kalimantan Education and Culture Fair 2019 was attended by regional officials, namely Dr. Hj. Meiliana, S.E., M.M., Acting Secretary of the Province of East Kalimantan, Muhammad Sabani, Head of the Provincial Education and Culture Office of East Kalimantan, and Dr. Asli Nuryadin, Head of Regional Education and Culture Office of Samarinda.
In addition, representing the Ministry of Education and Culture, the Secretary of the Language Development and Book Agency, Dr. Muh. Abdul Khak, was also presented at the moment.
“Education is a process of educating. The process that changes a person’s behavior in reaching a certain point. We cannot directly enjoy the results of the process. Therefore, this activity more emphasizes on literacy aspects that are in line with the character formation process in preparing the next golden generation in 2045 “, Dr. Muh. Abdul Khak delivered his remarks.
The East Kalimantan Education and Culture Fair 2019 organized several language and literature competitions which were involving elementary and secondary students and teachers in the Province of East Kalimantan and North Kalimantan.
Those competitions were Poetry Reading Contest for Elementary Students a number of 50 students, 90 teachers participated in Poetry Reading Contest for Teachers, Language and Literature of Notice Board (Mading) Contest held 15 Senior High School Teams, Junior High School Student Speech Contest a number of 33 students, Language and Literature Quiz Competition for Junior and Senior High School of 15 teams. Besides, the East Kalimantan Language Office also participated in the exhibition of language and literature books.
