Muara Ancalong, 14 August 2023 — The Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province conducted monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of Kenyah Language Revitalization in Gemar Baru Village, Muara Ancalong, East Kutai Regency on 13 and 14 August 2023. It aimed to determine the progress and the preparation of the elementary and junior high school students to take part in the FTBI. 

The monitoring spots are at three points, namely the Hall of Gemar Baru Village, SDN 005 Muara Ancalong, and SMPN 2 Muara Ancalong. It was attended by the Principal of SDN 005 Muara Ancalong, the Vice Principal of SMPN 2 Muara Ancalong, 12 teachers, the Chief of Gemar Baru Village, and 200 members of the Kenyah indigenous community in Gemar Baru Village. 

On that occasion, the Chief of Gemar Baru Village and the Principal of SDN 005 Muara Ancalong expressed their support and appreciation for the implementation of RBD and FTBI organized by the Regional Office for Language in East Kalimantan Province. Furthermore, the selected 21 children performed their talents in poetry and speech in the Kenyah language on the FTBI stage of the Gemar Baru Village. They were excited to show their talents. The audience also felt happy and proud of the children who were able and willing to preserve the Kenyah language so that it would not become extinct. (nm)
